We’re passing this along from Harv at Http://greaterbandon.org
We just wanted to get the word out to merchants that we are approaching the sixth year of Bandon’s Night of 10,000 Lights. Like last year, the highlight of the evening will be the lighting of our community Christmas Tree. The date has been set for Saturday November 25th to coincide with Small Business Saturday.
Activities this year will be much like last. Santa will appear ready for pictures with kids at 3:30 PM. Like last year, we are encouraging merchants to take part with “Alive After Five” type activities before and after the lighting. We will have cider, cookies and again a Wine/Nog Walk. Again, we are hoping to engage in these activities both before and after the lighting on the tree…starting around 3:30.
Margaret Pounder, Tara Shaw, Dana Nichols, Rushel Reed and I are trying to pull the pieces together organizing the event and will try to answer any questions you may have. The Greater Bandon Association will promote the Walk in “Alive After Five” fashion. If you plan any activities that day at your establishment, let us know as we will feature a promo on the activity in the days leading up to the event starting this coming Monday!!!
We will have more lights than ever this year and we hope that as many shops will add lights as well to give Old Town a festive look. Having the lights up by Thanksgiving is our target so that Saturday evening Old Town will be aglow.
A second event during the Christmas Holidays will occur two Saturdays later December 9th. We are having our third annual Lighted Christmas Parade at 5:30. Light yourself, your vehicle, your bike, your pet, your tractor and come be a part of the parade. You can call Dana at 201-704-0746 or myself at 541-297-2342 for details.
We will be doing a Nog Walk that night as well. Again, if you will be doing any activities that evening in conjunction with the Nog Walk, GBA will get word of the promotion out.
